MEALS ON WHEELS

Branding and packaging system for the non-profit organization Meals on Wheels, which provides free or low cost meals to home bound elderly and disabled people. System includes a sandwich container, an insulated tray for hot meals, utensils, and condiments (actual material is wax lined to be suitable for food use). The goal for my redesign was to not simply provide food but the hope of nourishment, inclusion, and optimism. I was inspired by classic Americana colors and imagery such as quilt patterns, wheat, and aluminum lunchboxes, resulting in a nostalgic but modern adaptation for today’s senior citizens.
