ART ON CAMERA:
PHOTOGRAPHS BY
SHUNK-KENDER, 1969–1971

This exhibition features the black and white photography of Harry Shunk and János Kender (known as Shunk-Kender). Through portraits, collaborations and landmark exhibitions of avant-garde movements of the era, Shunk-Kender documented the vibrant performance and Conceptual art scene of 1960s New York. Design for the show focuses on the idea of the crop—the way Shunk-Kender's photos framed and captured other artists' performances also became artwork in and of themselves.

Completed at MoMA. Creative Director: Ingrid Chou
